William Davies

William Davies works as the Academic Director at the Centre for Mutual and Employee - Owned Business, Kellogg College, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.  His research is in economic sociology and focuses on theories of ownership, the history and implementation of neoliberal policies, and the role of economic experts in public life. Davies is also a Fellow of The Young Foundation, an Associate of Demos, a Trustee of the Media Standards Trust and the Frank Haines Memorial Trust, an Associate Editor of Renewal, and recently edited Open Democracy's "Happiness Debate".

He was awarded his Ph.D. in Sociology by Goldsmiths, University of London in 2009, and was formerly a Research Fellow at the Institute for Science Innovation & Society, University of Oxford.
