Ibrahim Shihata

The late Dr. Ibrahim Shihata, was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the World Bank (1981-1999).  

 

He published his seminal book on Egyptian reform (in Arabic) “Waseyeti Li Biladi”, (My Will To My Country) in 1999. The book provided an in-depth analysis of the major problems facing Egypt at the time and offered comprehensive solutions to address them.  This is an extract from the chapter in the book on the reform of education in Egypt.  It  has been translated and edited by Samia Farid Shihata.
